Hello Brendan…
TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOU…WHERE DID YOU GROW UP, WHERE DID YOU PLAY IN THE PAST?
I grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. I played a year of junior A in South Surrey, then 4 years at Harvard University. I played a year in the AHL with Manchester Monarchs and then was traded to the Houston Aeros. The next year I played in Charleston, South Carolina in the ECHL, and last year was in Tilburg, Holland.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO PLAY FOR THE HC PUSTERTAL WOLVES IN ITALY THIS SEASON?
A big part of my decision to play in Italy was everything I’ve heard about the people, the culture, and the area where we are living in Italy. Second because the hockey is very good from people I have talked to in North America. And lastly, I heard that Brunico is a great program and a great place to play. Playing hockey seems always to be hit or miss with the program and the living situation wherever you go, and I’ve heard only good things about Brunico.
DO YOU KNOW SOME OF THE PLAYERS THAT ALREADY SIGNED OR PLAYED EARLIER WITH OUR TEAM?
(i.e. Joe Tallari, Greg Watson, Greg Barber, Mike Jarmuth, Jan Vodrazka)
No, I don’t know any of the other guys coming to the team, but I know of a few players through reputation as being really good players.
WHAT DID YOU HEAR ABOUT ITALIAN HOCKEY AND MAYBE ALSO ABOUT THE WOLVES?
As I said before, I’ve heard only good things about Italian hockey. It’s very competitive and is comparable to many of the other top leagues in Europe.
WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGHTS & WEAKNESSES (in hockey)?
I think my strengths in hockey are battling for the puck in corners, creating space for other players, and helping to create offense for the team. I always try to improve parts of my game, and Steve Yzerman even admits that every year he is still learning the game and trying to improve. I don’t like to think that I have any glaring weaknesses, but at the same time I know that I can always improve my game
THANKS BRENDAN FOR THIS SHORT INTERVIEW AND GOOD LUCK IN BRUNECK!!
